Conversations That Move People Forward

Different audiences. Different approaches. Growth through participation.

Every workshop creates an opportunity to step away from familiar routines, explore new perspectives, and put learning into practice. These featured experiences reflect OakRoot's commitment to human-centered growth through meaningful conversation, personal reflection, and active participation.

Personal Growth & Women's Experiences

Thoughtfully facilitated experiences exploring identity, self-discovery, mindfulness, and the courage to grow.

Threads of the Past:

Our experiences shape us, but they don't have to determine who we become. Through life's transitions, relationships, and unexpected challenges, we change. Sometimes those changes leave us wondering how the person we once were connects to who we are today.

Inspired by the legend of Kafka and the lost doll, Threads of the Past is an intimate storytelling experience that invites women to explore the wisdom of their personal histories. Through guided reflection, letter writing, symbolic creative expression, and shared conversation, participants examine how their experiences have shaped them and what they want to carry forward.

This extended workshop offers time and space to honor the past without trying to return to it, recognize the person they've become, and consider the possibilities of what comes next.

Key Themes: Personal identity, life transitions, storytelling, self-compassion, wisdom, and growth.

Honoring Who We've Been. Embracing Who We're Becoming.

Unmasked:

We all wear masks. The capable professional. The person who holds everything together. The perfectionist who never lets anyone see the uncertainty underneath. Sometimes these identities help us navigate the world. Other times, they keep us from being fully seen.

Inspired by New Orleans Carnival traditions, Unmasked combines creative expression with guided reflection and meaningful conversation. Participants explore the roles they inhabit, the expectations they carry, and the protective patterns that may no longer serve them.

Through symbolic mask decorating and facilitated discussion, women consider what authenticity means in their current season of life and identify small, courageous ways to show up more fully as themselves.

Key Themes: Identity, authenticity, vulnerability, self-protection, perfectionism, and Microbravery™.

The Labyrinth Walk:

Sometimes clarity comes not from thinking harder, but from slowing down and allowing ourselves to be present.

Inspired by the reflective symbolism of the waning gibbous moon, The Labyrinth Walk offers a gentle, guided experience centered on mindfulness, gratitude, and the integration of personal wisdom.

Through intention-setting, walking meditation, quiet reflection, and a closing circle, participants explore what they've learned, appreciate how far they've come, and consider how to carry that wisdom into everyday life.

Grounded in the natural beauty of New Orleans, this experience offers a restorative alternative to traditional seated meditation.

Key Themes: Mindfulness, gratitude, presence, intentional living, reflection, and integration.

Leadership & Organizational Transformation

Interactive leadership experiences that strengthen judgment, encourage courageous conversations, and connect personal values to organizational action.

The Decision Room:

Leadership Under Pressure in the Age of AI

As artificial intelligence reshapes work, leaders face increasingly complex decisions where business priorities, human consequences, ethics, and accountability collide. Technology may offer recommendations, but people remain responsible for the decisions that follow.

The Decision Room is a dynamic, scenario-based leadership experience that places participants inside difficult, often ambiguous situations. Through a facilitated rotating fishbowl, leaders must make decisions with incomplete information, explain their reasoning, respond to challenges, and reconsider their positions as new information emerges.

The objective isn't to find a perfect answer. It's to strengthen the distinctly human judgment, accountability, and adaptability required to lead in a rapidly changing world.

Key Themes: Human judgment, AI and leadership, ethical decision-making, accountability, uncertainty, and adaptability.

What Really Matters:

Where Values Meet Real Decisions

Most leaders can articulate their values. The real test comes when those values collide with competing priorities, organizational pressures, and difficult decisions.

What Really Matters challenges participants to move beyond identifying what they believe to examining how those beliefs influence their actions. Through values exploration, realistic leadership scenarios, peer dialogue, and guided reflection, participants confront the gap between their stated priorities and the choices they make.

This interactive workshop helps leaders deepen self-awareness, recognize competing commitments, and identify practical ways to lead with greater intention, integrity, and consistency.

Key Themes: Values-based leadership, self-awareness, leadership integrity, decision-making, and personal accountability.

Safe to Brave:

The Courage to Challenge with Respect

Meaningful collaboration requires more than agreement. It requires people who can challenge ideas, navigate disagreement, and have difficult conversations without sacrificing trust or respect.

Safe to Brave explores what it takes to create environments where different perspectives are welcomed and courageous dialogue becomes possible. Through interactive scenarios, guided discussion, and practical exercises, participants examine how they experience respect, respond to disagreement, and balance their intentions with the impact of their words and actions.

Participants practice the communication skills and relational awareness needed to engage in difficult conversations, challenge assumptions, and strengthen trust across teams.

Key Themes: Psychological safety, courageous conversations, respectful disagreement, trust, communication, and team dynamics.
